About the town

The town of Żyrardów is situated in the heart of Poland, at the south-west part of Mazowieckie Voivodeship, 45 km from Warsaw and 90 km from Łódź. The town is 1.433 ha in area. The town has a population of more than 40 thousand.
 

Żyrardów is located by some important overland routes:

• Track transit route – the country road no 50, from the west to the east of Poland
• Regional road no 719 Warsaw-Skierniewice
• Warsaw-Katowice expressway - 9 km away
• railway line from the north to the south of Poland
• interchange of a planned A2 motorway - 7 km from the town
• Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport - an hour away by car

The town is the capital of country district (www.powiat-zyrardowski.pl). Within the borders of the Żyrardów Powiat lies most of the area of Bolimów Landscape Park, which is a tourist attraction. In the nearby Radziejowice there is Creative Work House of the Ministry of Culture.
