Town Finances -
Town budget is passed every year by the Town Council on the basis of a project proposed by the President of the Town.

The local council's income consists of various subventions and subsidies from the Budget (almost 50%), shares in taxes collected by the state from natural persons (28%) and from legal entities (5%) as well as income from local taxes and payments (e.g. from property tax) as well as from the sale of property (flats, allotment plots).

Local government expenses among other things cover maintenance of nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, primary health care, social assistance, roads, waterworks, the sewage system, public transport, council flats, cultural and sports facilities, water supply, sewage treatment, waste removal and keeping public order.

In each year of the last term of office, both income and expenses rose in the budget of Żyrardów. However, in comparison with the needs, due sums transferred from the Budget to the Town were falling.

sums transferred from the Budget to the Town were falling - in 2002 there might be lack of 1,5 million zlotys to pay housing benefits

the town budget raised sums of money due to the inhabitants' participation in costs of construction of waterworks and sewage system - altogether 877 thousand zlotys
